Our Development/Competitive program is a great opportunity for players who are looking for a higher level of competition and who want to play with other kids who are generally more committed to the sport. These teams train and compete nearly year-round and tend to consist of the same core group of players from year to year. It’s important to recognize the key differences before making the step from recreational to select soccer.

COMPETITIVE LEVEL OF PLAY
The level of competition within this program is generally higher. These teams are typically trained by qualified, experienced coaches and the quality of learning and player development is generally more advanced than that experienced at the recreational level. U13+ teams are more competitive and have the opportunity to travel to Provincials. The season runs long than the recreational season. Teams generally play through September, with a one month break throughout the summer.

FEES
Development/Competitive fees are generally more expensive than recreational fees. Fees include spring training, training kits, facility rentals, equipment, referee fees, technical direction/training, and administration costs. In addition, players will be responsible for tournament fees ranging from $150-$250, depending on the number of tournaments attending. Tournament fees will be collected, at a later date, by the Team Manager.

TRAVEL
Players are placed on competitive teams that will travel to tournaments - generally within a 4hr drive. Most teams attend 4-5 tournaments a season, with the exception of U10 teams, which attend only 3 tournaments in Nelson, Cranbrook, and Trail. Parents and players will travel at their own expense!

2024 Registration Fees

U10 – Born in 2014-2015 ===================  $250.00
U11-U18 – Born in 2006-2013 ================ $300.00

Tournament fees are not included and will be dependant on the number of tournaments your team attends.
Fees will be collected, at a later date, by the Team Manager.

Players registering for our Development/Competitive program must also be registered in our Recreational program!

**TRAVEL WILL BE REQUIRED**
Practices may take place in Beaver Valley, Castlegar, Trail, Rossland.

May 25 & 26 - Clash of the Titans, Invermere, BC
June 21-23 - Kootenay Rovers Classic, Cranbrook, BC
September 7 & 8 - Little Bear Tournament, Revelstoke, BC
September 14 & 15 - Eye of the Storm, KSYSA
*Although these are the typical annual tournaments that our KSYSA teams attend, your team may decide to opt for alternative tournaments, in lieu of/in addition to what's listed above.
